Book cover of The Reporter's UNLIKELY Reunion by MaryAnn Clarke

To Julian, home, family and friends are everything.  They’re all he’s got.

Ruby’s heart is big enough to encompass the whole world. But she’s all alone.

Julian

Ruby was my universe. She was all I ever wanted. Then she left me in the dark the summer after grad with a shattered heart, all my dreams dead. The only place I’ve seen her face is on the televisions hanging in high-class kitchens around the world, haunting me. On the eve of our tenth high school reunion, she’s suddenly back, and I don’t know why. My hardened heart is cracked open like an egg. Though I never stopped loving her for a moment, how do I know I still want her? I’m not the same man I was then.

Ruby

Ten years ago, I buried the lede when I betrayed the love of my life and abandoned him to pursue my journalism career. Few people know what happened, and Julian isn’t one of them. Burning with ambition, derailed by loss, I left Julian on the farm to travel the world, investigating others’ strife and trouble. Ten eventful years have passed, and I’m finally back in Port Cam. Now I have to tell Julian the truth. After what I’ve been through, I’m not sure what I want or what I’m capable of, but the one thing I need is forgiveness.

Can their ten year high school reunion give these star-crossed lovers the ingredients to re-write their story?

Author’s Note: A steamy, swoony second chance romance with a big-hearted hero out to save the world one dish at a time, and a wounded heroine who is starting to think hearth and heart might be the balm to heal her broken spirit.

REVIEWS & PRAISE

“The story I never knew I needed. If you like swoony, second chance romances with four dimensional characters and a little spice, I’d recommend you give The Reporter’s UNLIKELY Reunion a go…The longing between these characters is palpable throughout the whole book. There is so much between them (the good, the bad, the sexual tension), and you are on the edge of your seat, rooting for them to work it out and find their happy ever after. Clarke’s writing conveys their love and hurt so beautifully and I most definitely fell in love with Jules…Bonus points for some diverse characters, ADHD and autism rep, and for setting up the next book well.”

“I felt like I was reading a complex series of ” Friends ” episodes with a tight knit group of friends who were reconnecting after high school. The characters were relatable and all had human flaws. It was interesting to follow all the twists and turns between the characters and how they dealt with the changes they had made since high school. I read this book in free chapters from the author but couldn’t wait till the next one came. It was a very enjoyable read and a great way to escape if only for a little while.”

“A very different story. The 10 year reunion, a group of friends, some haven’t seen each other in 10 years. This book tells the story of Julian and Ruby from both sides, but you also get to meet the rest of the gang. A diverse group and you get a glimpse into their lives too. Very well written…”
